Why luxury hotels in the U.S. should be your next travel choice

Whether you’re travelling to America for the first time or you just want to explore a new corner of it, why not go all out with luxury hotel accommodation this time? Providing an extra-special touch, this will make your holiday one to remember (especially if you fly by private jet to get there, too!)

Still not sure? Then here’s some more advice on how luxury hotels can transform a holiday from great to absolutely amazing and how to find the right hotel.

Getting Your Money’s Worth

You’re going to struggle to find a traveller who’s booked themselves into a luxury hotel and felt as though the experience was lacklustre and wasn’t worth the money.

Any good luxury hotel will provide unbeatable accommodation and exceptional customer service, along with all those finishing touches that you didn’t realise you wanted (complimentary bath towels, a private butler, breakfast in bed – need we go on?).

Think of it almost like a luxury car – yes, a standard one will still get you from A to B, but a luxury one will get you there in comfort and style, and with some additional touches that make it a memorable experience.

So when you’re booking your accommodation, consider the fact that this is more than just somewhere to go to sleep – it’s somewhere to make memories and indulge yourself.

Getting All The Right Features

In order for a hotel to be considered ‘luxurious’, it should meet a variety of discerning criteria.

First, the room should have a huge impact on you as soon as you walk into it. Does it boast high-quality furniture, a style that’s definitely had input from an interior designer, and no cheap or tacky touches (like the ones you find in many basic hotel chains – crude lighting and instant coffee in a packet). Close attention to detail should have been paid in every aspect of this room.

Finding a Top Notch Bathroom

Part of the elite quality of a hotel room will be evident in the bathroom – and this is becoming an increasingly important aspect for up-market hotels.

Think his-and-hers sinks, a private room with the loo in, a freestanding bath (or two), a double shower or wet room and maybe even the added bonus of a sauna, steam room or hot tub.

These extravagant touches should also be completed with fluffy towels (more than you could ever possibly use), complimentary soaps and smellies (that smell and leave your skin feeling absolutely amazing) and various mirrors that help you shave or put your make-up on.

Dining in Style

Last but by no means least, a luxury hotel should offer you fantastic dining options – one at least.

The bar and restaurant should be just as stylish, if not more so, than your room and the chef behind the menu should be industry-leading. And don’t settle for a bog-standard buffet breakfast, either – a la carte is the only way to go.

When you add up all of the above points it’s clear that luxury hotels offer you so much more than somewhere to lay your head at night. They go above and beyond to create an unforgettable experience that stays with you for a lifetime. We will soon be heading to Hawaii and can’t wait to stay at some amazing ocean view luxury hotels.

  1. Definitely worth the coin Claire! I spent time in a few luxe hotels in the USA. All experiences are first rate. Our obsession – not mine but my fellow Americans LOL – with customer service makes for magical stays at 5 star digs. Funny thing; best hotel I ever frequented was Novatel in Taipei, Taiwan. The buffet was like something out of Game of Thrones as far as size and variety. Great post!

  2. Luxury hotels certainly can lift the holiday experience to the next level. We love luxury and little surprises those luxurious places can offer. We usually stay around 50% of time in “regular” hotels and another 50% in the luxury ones, just to make sure we’ll still enjoy those luxuries.

I’m super excited that this summer we’ll explore Asia and plenty of stunning 4-5 star hotels there. Cannot wait to blog about those soon!
